Family law reaches further into a person’s life than almost any other area of practice. The matters I handle concern children, homes, and the wealth and standing built over decades — and by the time someone retains me, a great deal of it is already at risk. My work is to bring order and judgment to that, and preparation the other side does not expect.

I have done this, and only this, for more than thirty years. The focus is deliberate. I have been Board Certified in Marital and Family Law since 1998 — fewer than 300 attorneys in Florida hold the credential. I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a standing conferred through examination and peer review rather than application. I served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, and I have helped train the attorneys who came after me, including the certification review that prepares them for the credential I hold.

What I bring to a case is also a matter of temperament. I compete nationally showing Morgan horses — work that rewards precision and punishes shortcuts. A thousand-pound animal gives its best only to someone disciplined enough to earn it. That is the same discipline a client is paying for, applied to a different problem.

My father, a physician, had one rule he repeated: always have a project — work that demands your full attention and does not forgive inattention. That describes this work exactly.

People come to me on the hardest day they’ve had in years. I help them through it.
